You know, I’ve always said the one thing wrong with Washington is a lack of transparency. Well, apparently White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs has been reading my diary, because the Obama Administration spokesman is now tweeting!
Wow! I think it’s so cool that Robert Gibbs likes Lance Armstrong! </sarcasm>
Yet apparently it’s working. As of this blog posting, Gibbs has over 26,000 followers. Gibbs jokes on his Twitter page that Kim Kardashian should watch out, which would be funny if I thought that the White House Press Secretary could get over 3 million people to follow him.
But I think my favorite part of this whole thing is this gem Gibbs gave the White House Press Corps:
What I write and what I tweet is archived as a part of this Presidential Records Act of 1978 because it is work product created as part of my job at the White House.
The only thing that would be archived other than what I produce is if you respond directly to me, and only me.
Well, Twitter users. You heard the man. If you send a tweet specifically for Robert Gibbs, it will be archived for posterity. Gee, I can’t imagine how people might take advantage of this…
If you think this is bad, just wait for the Ashton Kutcher Administration.
