Steve Jobs Attacks Droid Over Porn? WTF?

Is this really a fight Steve Jobs wants to have? When asked why Apple doesn’t allow “unsigned” apps for the iPhone/iPod/iPad, this was his response:

You know, there’s a porn store for Android. Anyone can download them. You can, your kids can. That’s just not a place we want to go.

I’ll give you a second to absorb that.

You might remember that a few months ago, Apple cracked down on the more “sexy” apps available in the iTunes store. Now, as of this moment, there is still a Playboy app. So…

Is it that the Playboy app is mainstream smut?

But I really do think Steve Jobs made a bad move with this statement. After all, one of Apple’s key demographics is male virgins in their 20’s, and if they don’t have porn apps, what other avenues are there?

(Besides finding said porn using their web browsers?)
