If you remember our very first episode, you’ll recall that I’m a big fan of 1Password, the awesome password-managing app that everyone should own. But now, not only is it available for the Mac, and the iPhone, iPod touch, and now the iPad, but today the good folks at Agile Web Solutions announced a 1Password beta for Windows.
Obviously the intention of this is to allow Mac users to easily be able to access their saved passwords no matter where they are (solving the primary reason that we hesitate to make strong passwords in the first place), but now this awesome app in all of its functionality will be available to Windows users as well! Now no one will have a reason to not use strong, secure passwords!
Eventually, 1Password for Windows will likely end up costing a bit (no word yet on if the Mac license will work for free on Windows or not), but for now Windows users can download the beta for free and see what you’ve been missing. It’s not quite as nice-looking as the Mac version (it actually appears to be more like the old version 2 of 1Password for Mac), but the functionality is still there. It appears to work with Internet Explorer and Firefox (though the extensions have to be turned on individually), with Chrome and Safari support coming in the near future.
So go check it out now, and start feeling more secure online!
